Galaxy S25 Ultra Display May Fall Short of iPhone 16 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro

The Samsung Galaxy S25 series is highly anticipated to bring a new revolution in the tech industry but is still expected to use M13 material for display.

Earlier this year Samsung debuted the Galaxy S24 series which sticks with M13 OLED display technology that delivers a major leap in efficiency and brightness. However, on the rival side, Apple’s newly launched iPhone 16 Pro and Google’s Pixel 9 Pro are already using upgraded M14 OLED panels. By this prospect, it was expected that the coming Galaxy S25 series would also use the M14 panel, but that’s not the actual case according to a new report.

A well-reliable tipster, Ross Young, confirmed that the coming Galaxy S25 series will use an M13 OLED panel rather than an M14.

The reason behind still sticking to the old M13 OLED panel and not switching on the upgraded M14 OLED is due to cost reasons. The newer generation OLED panel will cost high, which will boost the device’s cost, to maintain the price rate, the company is looking forward to using the same technology as the Galaxy S24 series.

However, the M14 panel offers 20–30% higher efficiency as compared to its predecessor M13. It also has a longer lifespan and uses a red deuterium host.

M13 OLED is a type of organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display technology that offers improved performance over the previous OLED panels used in Galaxy devices but is still a step back from the latest-generation M14 OLED panel.

The entire Galaxy S25 series will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite and it’s already reported that the chipset will boost the Galaxy S25 series cost. Maybe to balance the price rate Samsung could use the same M13 OLED panel for the coming Galaxy S25 series.
