Google Rolls Out Android Auto Update with New Features for Ford EVs
While Google significantly added much useful NACS charging standards for EV settings for non-Tesla EVs with the newer Android Auto 13.1 version, more interesting yet new features have started rolling out for Ford EVs via a new update.
Ford EVs, specifically the Ford F-150 Lightning and Mustang Mach-E, have started receiving some newly added features, as both vehicles run the basic Android smartphone-based Android Auto instead of using the latest native Android Automotive experience.
Meanwhile, this newest update to Android Auto will now allow users to view their EVs’ remaining battery level when arriving at their final destination on Google Maps, with suggesting charging stations in the same route and time required for charging the vehicle in real-time.
Alternatively, right after updating Android Auto to its latest version, users will now notice the location of supported Tesla Superchargers displayed on their Google Maps in Android Auto while also integrating the pre-condition of the EVs’ battery and the number of chargers that are available along the entire route.
Therefore, the newer features of Android Auto for Ford-specific EVs provide users with a more enhanced and convenient experience, allowing them to receive all their EV information in real-time. Additionally, the collaboration between Google and Ford enhances the effectiveness of the system, allowing users to benefit from the latest innovations available for Android Auto.
