Google Wallet Adds Tap-to-Pay Access for Kids Through Family Link

Beginning next year, Google’s online payment service, Google Wallet, will allow kids to make tap-to-pay payments via Family Link in the US.
Yes! From next year, kids will be allowed to download the Google Wallet app on their Android smartphones, which will allow them to make tap-to-pay transactions through the Family Link in 2025. However, kids will not be permitted to use the cards that are already saved in the Google Wallet app for processing online payments.
Meanwhile, this unique yet safe measure of expansion of tap-to-pay for kids to Google Wallet comes right after receiving the positive response from Fitbit Ace LTE devices’ tap-to-pay procedure. Whereas keeping safety to the topmost priority, kids will get special supervision from their parents towards using the features like approval of new cards, removing cards, and viewing transaction history.
While the NFC payments will need to be authenticated with a PIN, password, fingerprint, or facial recognition, parents will be needed to approve each credit or debit card that is added to their kids’ Android phones; even any remaining payment card will also be added to the Google Wallet for kids.
The Family Link app will offer parents to track and monitor their kid’s transaction process, view their recent transaction history, remove any card, and also block certain passes from the Google Wallet app.
Moreover, the Google Wallet for kids via Family Link seems to lay a positive emphasis on the expansion of the tap-to-pay method while also building a more safe and secure environment for the kids when using Google Wallet. Lastly, Google will begin rolling out the above-mentioned function to Google Wallet from next year, including several countries like the US and expanding more widely.
