Samsung Health Monitor Ends Support for Older Android Devices
Samsung’s consistency is a perfect treat to watch, as it continuously delivers the latest software updates to the Galaxy apps and services. But this software update series comes to an end when the service or app stops receiving any further updates.
Samsung to End Health Monitor Support running Android 9.0, 10.0, and 11.0 versions
The similar case is with Samsung Health Monitor, as the company discontinues support for Galaxy phones running Android 9, 10, and 11 firmware versions.
According to the notice presented in the company’s forum, Samsung informs that it’s discontinuing the support for Samsung Health Monitor for the Galaxy devices running Android OS 9.0, Android OS 10.0, and Android OS 11.0 versions, beginning on December 23, 2024.
Thus, people will need to update the Samsung Health Monitor app to its latest OS version on their Galaxy watches and smartphones.
Nevertheless, the users will further need to upgrade their smartphone’s OS version to the Android OS version 12.0 or higher, even if, in case of not upgrading the Android version, users can easily continue to use the Samsung Health Monitor app with the existing version that it’s running on. However, the newest features or changes offered by the service will not be provided as the support is limited.
Moreover, Samsung Health Monitor received a new update that eventually brought a lot of improvements to the overall functionality while also adding a new heart rhythm notification feature for the Galaxy Watch 4 owners. But this latest update caused the Health Monitor app to crash in Samsung Galaxy Watches, and the company is yet to resolve the issue; hopefully it addresses the app crashing issue as soon as possible.
