Samsung could be the first brand to launch a tri-foldable phone worldwide by introducing its own tri-fold Galaxy device shortly.

To compete with its rivals, Samsung plans to debut its first tri-foldable smartphone in the global market. In comparison, Huawei has already launched its tri-foldable phone, but in particular regions instead of global markets.

A few days ago it was rumored that Samsung could launch a tri-foldable phone; now the latest patent details suggest that the rumors were true. According to a report from MSPowerUser, the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has released a technical document regarding the rumored Samsung Galaxy tri-fold.

Interestingly, the company has patented a new design for a rumored tri-fold device, and originally it was filed in 2021 and has only now been made public. The patent details suggest that the company will offer upgrades in screen technology, including special openings to reduce stress at the hinges, a protective layer, and an anti-reflective coating.

If this report comes true and Samsung launches its tri-fold phone before any other manufacturers and Huawei doesn’t release its tri-fold Mate X globally, then it will become the first brand to introduce a tri-foldable phone worldwide.

However, Samsung has yet to release any official statement regarding its future strategy for expanding its foldable family. It remains to see exactly when this patent will come into existence.
