Right after updating the Samsung Galaxy S21 lineup with the November 2024 security update in Canada, US models have started receiving the security patch, alongside Galaxy S21 Fan Edition models including the S21 FE 5G and S21 FE 5G (2022).
The update is rolling out for the Verizon carrier-locked Samsung Galaxy S21, S21+ and S21 Ultra, which are getting it with the G991USQSEGXJ4, G996USQSEGXJ4, and G998USQSEGXJ4 firmware versions.
In addition to the Galaxy S21 units, the carrier-locked Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G carries the G990USQSEGXJ6 version number, while the S21 FE 5G (2022) units are receiving the update with the G990U2SQSCGXJ6version number.
Currently, Samsung is delivering the update to the carrier-locked models, while the company details that the November 2024 security patch significantly addresses several security vulnerabilities and fixes other relevant bugs and flaws in order to offer a secure experience to the users. It focuses on the overall functionality that leads to a more efficient and smooth experience.
Although the update does not carry any major features or changes, additionally, the update further brings several improvements to the system security, adds performance optimizations, brings stability and reliability to the system behavior, and delivers much improved features that aim to offer a smooth, stable, and optimized software experience to the users.
Lastly, Samsung is currently covering the US market in order to deliver the November patch for the carrier-locked Galaxy S21 and S21 FE owners, while the update will follow the carrier-unlocked models and other eligible countries shortly.
