
Samsung is collaborating with Google to introduce new AI-powered XR glasses sometime in the second half of next year. These glasses are expected to feature a few specifications similar to those of the popular Ray-Ban Meta glasses.
Samsung is looking forward to launching the latest XR glasses for displaying visual objects, which are expected to have an initial production run of 500,000 units. According to the new report from Wellsen XR, the company will debut the coming XR glasses in the third quarter of next year.
A reliable tipster, Jukanlosreve, leaked the specifications of Samsung AI Smart Glasses and other details. He revealed that the company will launch the glasses sometime in Q3 2025. The company is targeting 500,000 units for the initial production.
The forthcoming Samsung AI Smart Glasses are rumored to weigh 50 grams and be powered by a Qualcomm AR1 chipset. They could feature a 12MP Sony IMX681 camera and a 155mAh battery.
Noticeably, The company is not dedicatedly focusing on its upcoming XR glasses’ lightweight design and battery life. However, it is busy leveraging AI through Gemini to enable features like payment, QR code recognition, gesture recognition, and human recognition.
Recently, it was reported that Samsung could hold its Galaxy Unpacked event on 23 January 2025 to launch the Galaxy S25 launch. It’s expected that it could tease the upcoming glasses or give a sneak peek at the event.
