Android 16 based One UI 8 could bring these three new features

Google already released its Android 16 developer preview, which includes three new features that Samsung could adopt with One UI 8 next year.

Google hinted at the stable Android 16 update release by the end of the first half of next year. Meanwhile, Samsung will also start working on its next-generation software version, One UI 8, based on Android 16.

Currently, three new features are revealed from the Android 16 developer preview view that Samsung could adopt with its One UI 8 since it will be based on Android 16. Let’s take a closer look at the new features coming with the next major OS update.

Samsung could offer an embedded photo picker with One UI 8, which provides a safe, built-in way for users to grant your application access to particular images and videos from storage without full media library access, and it can be easily integrated using the Android Jetpack library.

The developer preview of Health Connect contains an early version of APIs supporting health records; this means the next major update will bring new features to enhance the health tracking experience. The health records will allow apps to read and write medical records in FHIR format with explicit user consent.

Android 16 developer preview includes the latest Privacy Sandbox on Android, which adds an extra layer of privacy and security. Developers can explore the SDK Runtime, which is a technology that isolates SDKs from the main application environment to improve data protection.

For now, only these features come into light with the developer preview, and more features will come to light gradually. However, it remains to see whether Samsung will adopt these features with the Android 16-based One UI 8.0.
