Samsung is collaborating with LG Uplus to debut a custom smartphone named Galaxy ixi-O AI Phone next year.

The Korean tech giant is looking forward to taking dedicated steps toward AI by debuting a new custom smartphone. According to the new report from KEDGlobal, claimed that Samsung and LG Uplus are partnering to manufacture the Galaxy ixi- O AI Phone.

Reportedly, both brands agreed to embark on a joint AI smartphone project aimed at debuting a “real AI phone” that goes beyond simply integrating AI assistant services into a smartphone. The key aim behind this partnership is to integrate LG’s AI capabilities into Galaxy smartphones from the initial development stage.

The collaboration will be dedicated to merging the AI call assistant ixi-O of LG Uplus with Galaxy AI. The forthcoming AI smartphone, designedly named Galaxy ixi-O phone, will primarily target LG Uplus users, however, these AI services will eventually be available for other mobile carriers.

Reportedly, one of the people stated, “We expect AI services provided by ixi-O to be revolutionary when integrated into Samsung’s Galaxy on-device AI phones,”

Noticeably, the report also hints that this collaboration could integrate LG’s AI technology into Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series which is supposed to launch in late January. It seems that this partnership will enhance user experience with various features; including, AI call-answering, voice phishing detection, call recording, and transcription.

LG Uplus has plans to spend up to 3 trillion won on AI development and collaborating with tech giants such as Google and Amazon.
