Samsung is supposed to debut the Galaxy S26 in early 2026 powered by a second-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which could be the reason for the boost in price.

Samsung is setting up to debut its next-generation flagship Galaxy S25 series powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. It’s already rumored that the forthcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra will be much costlier than its predecessor, the Galaxy S24 Ultra. However, it seems that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will also meet the hike in price.

The new report claims that Qualcomm is expected to significantly raise the unit price of the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2nd Generation AP, similar to what it did with the current Snapdragon 8 Elite. On the other side, Samsung is expected to power the Galaxy S26 Ultra with Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, which means that it will meet the boost in price rates.

A tipster, Jukanlosreve, on X, shared a post and claimed that “Qualcomm is expected to significantly raise the unit price of the 8 Elite 2nd Generation AP, just as it did this year.”

He also mentioned the reason behind this, as the various internal and external factors will force Qualcomm to increase the price of the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2nd Gen significantly. Although the notifications have already been sent to some component suppliers, and negotiations have begun. The price rise in chipsets will directly force Samsung to raise its base prices for the Galaxy S26. It remains to see what will happen next, since for now, it’s too early to discuss.
