Qualcomm Developing Snapdragon 8s Elite to Boost Upper Mid-Range Phones
Qualcomm introduced its latest 3nm process-based Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset at the Snapdragon Summit 2024. Now the brand is planning to expand the ‘Elite’ series by introducing a new chipset called Snapdragon 8s Elite for the mid-high range.
Qualcomm unveiled its latest chipset under a brand new title, ‘Elite,’ named Snapdragon 8 Elite, as a significant upgrade over its predecessor. The brand is looking forward to expanding the ways of its latest ‘Elite’ branding by using this terminology for a forthcoming mid-range Snapdragon SoC as well.
If the report from a well-reliable tipster, Digital Chat Station, is to be believed, Qualcomm is preparing the Snapdragon 8s Elite for the mid-high range. He revealed alleged details of an upcoming chipset with dedicated model number SM8735 that would follow the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and potentially be called the Snapdragon 8s Elite.
Noticeably, it also claimed that this new chipset would be more powerful as compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 but slightly lower than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. According to the tipster’s prediction, the first smartphone powered by this chipset could be launched in April next year, along with 7,000mAh batteries.
Apart from this, another tipster, Yogesh Brar, also claimed that this alleged new Snapdragon 8s will be joined by a new Snapdragon 7 Plus chipset with model number SM7775.
