Samsung revamped its overall UI experience with the latest Android 15-based One UI 7 beta update, showcasing smarter innovations and experiments of mobile AI platform. The latest version, however, brings plenty of new features and changes, Samsung further focuses on improving the battery functionalities of its Galaxy models when compared to the previous one.

One UI 7 Brings New Battery Icon and Charging Animation for Lock and Home Screens

With some more enhanced battery icon and charging animations in Android 15-based One UI 7.0, Samsung has worked hard at some interesting aspects which can be easily noticed when operating latest beta update on the Galaxy S24.

Improved battery icon:

First up, the new Battery icon. With One UI 7 beta, Galaxy users will now notice a new pill-shaped battery icon, displaying a numerical battery percentage inside the pill placed at the top right corner, while also updating the font style. This is, however, a minor but definitely an impactful change that offers aesthetic vibes to the users.

Immersive Battery charging animations:

Simultaneously, the biggest highlight of the latest improvement is the battery charging animations. Now, on the lock screen, users will be able to see a new yet interactive charging animation via the Now bar that appears when the charger is plugged in and disappears immediately. The Now Bar consists of a battery percentage with a charging symbol.

Alternatively, when on the home screen, when the charger is plugged in, the battery pill extends into an island, highlighting charging beside the battery percentage, and disappears after one or two seconds. Therefore, this newest animation not only looks aesthetic but also offers an intuitive design to the charging space.

More control over battery charging limits:

Lastly, adding more control over battery charging limits, One UI 7 further allows users to easily set a limit for how much their battery should charge under the Device Care settings via the Maximum option. However, the capability to charge the device was already introduced with One UI 6.1, but it was only limited to 80%.

One UI 7 Battery Protection

Now, One UI 7 adds a few more options or limits that significantly range from 80% to 95%. This newest move will definitely prevent Galaxy devices from charging to 100% constantly, thus expanding the overall lifespan as well.
