Samsung One UI 7 Offers Refresh Rate Flexibility for Gamers

Samsung introduced a surprising feature called Gaming Motion Smoothness within the Gaming Hub/Game Booster app with the latest One UI 7 to enhance the gaming experience.

The Korean tech giant has expanded the Gaming Hub/Game Booster app’s ways to make it more user-friendly by adding a convenient feature called Gaming Motion smoothness, which lets you switch between 60Hz and 120Hz so you can choose between longer battery life and smoother animations when gaming on your phone.

Until One UI 6, the company offers the option to limit the frame rate in games to up to 48Hz to avoid more power consumption. Now on One UI 7, you can only have two choices: set the refresh rate to 60Hz or 120Hz. Potentially, Samsung could add the 48Hz option back with the coming One UI 7 beta updates.

Samsung claims this feature will not affect games that have their dedicated refresh rate settings. You can easily access Game Booster and the refresh rate settings by navigating a few steps: open the Gaming Hub application and click the More button housed at the top right corner of the screen.
