Samsung Galaxy Phones Support Instagram Night Mode Camera

Samsung Galaxy users get ready to experience advanced camera features while using Instagram to take photos in low light.
Meta-owned Instagram has introduced a new Night Mode feature for a few Android smartphones, including Galaxy smartphones and Google Pixels. This feature will enhance the capturing experience while taking images in low light using the Instagram camera.

The new Night Mode feature uses Android’s Camera Extensions API to help Instagram access advanced camera features to capture high-quality images. Currently, the feature is only available for selected Galaxy smartphones, which are as follows:
It is expected that soon more Galaxy devices will also be compatible with this feature. The Camera Extensions API offers access to device-specific features such as Bokeh, Face Retouch, High Dynamic Range (HDR), and Night Mode.
Night Mode works by taking multiple images at several exposures and coupling them simultaneously to brighten up dark scenes without even using flash, and whenever Instagram detects low light, it displays a moon icon next to the flash button and recommends you to “Hold Still” for a few seconds while it captures the best possible shot.
Reportedly, Google will introduce a new indicator with Android 16 that will notify users when Night Mode is required to ensure that your device automatically adjusts the settings for the best photo quality as per the light condition.
