
Samsung is rolling out the December 2024 security patch for its fourth-generation foldables, including the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 in the USA.
Notably, the December 2024 security patch for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 is spotted on the Verizon network. It carries the firmware version numbers F936USQS7GXKC and F721USQS7GXKC, respectively. It is expected that the update will be soon available on more carriers and also for the unlocked variants. It is worth noticing that the same update is already rolled out for Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 devices on the Verizon network.
December 2024 update: What’s new
The December 2024 update for Galaxy devices doesn’t bring any significant changes or new features. But being a security patch, it will provide several internal fixes that will improve the overall security of the devices.
According to the official documentation, there are more than 40 different quality fixes with new updates. In detail, there are 34 patches added by Google that address the internal issues of the Android level.
Additionally, at the same time, Samsung has also added 10 more patches that exclusively address issues related to the Galaxy device to ensure its use to get more and strengthen the security of the devices.
How to check the update
To download & install the latest update on your device, you just need to follow these steps:
- First, open the system settings.
- Now tap on the software update option.
- Here choose the Download and Install option.
- If it shows a new update available, it means you can now update your device to the latest version.
- Finally, tap on the install button to get it on your device.
