Samsung is rumored to debut its first XR headset at the Galaxy Unpacked event on 22 January 2205 alongside the Galaxy S25 series, which is expected to be named Galaxy Switch.

The Korean tech giant recently unveiled an XR glasses project named Moohan, which is expected to be introduced next month at the Unpacked event. Now a brand registered the trademark “Switch” for a new headset hinting at Project Moohan.

Samsung is developing the new XR headset in collaboration with Google, Qualcomm, and eXtended Reality experiences that go much further than the low-threshold Gear VR headset from a few years ago.

Noticeably, Samsung unveiled the XR headset under the project name Moohan, and now the recently registered trademark of the company hints that the headset will be named Galaxy Switch.

Earlier this week, Samsung filed the paperwork for the application for the trade name “Samsung Switch,” which could potentially be used for the forthcoming XR headset or a series of the same devices. The trademark covers several product categories; for instance, headsets, virtual reality glasses, augmented reality displays, and other XR devices.

Regarding this, Samsung also describes the surprisingly clear application; Headsets; wireless headsets; virtual reality headsets; headsets for virtual reality games; 3D glasses; smart glasses; virtual reality glasses; virtual reality goggles; head-mounted augmented reality displays; augmented reality computer hardware; apparatus for generating virtual images; virtual reality [VR] motion simulators; wearable computers; head-mounted displays.

However, for now, it’s unclear whether Switch is the name of a particular headset or an entire series.
