Samsung XR Powered by Android XR to Offer Unique App Modes

Not only the next-generation Galaxy S25 series, Samsung is also expected to raise the curtains on its latest XR models via the Galaxy Unpacked proceedings next month. Earlier, reports suggested that the new XR headsets could be easily discoverable via Google’s Find My Device support. Now, Google is up to presenting some exciting details, introducing new app modes for Samsung’s XR.
According to the developer report, Google will be introducing two different app modes, allowing users to have an integrated and limitless experience.
Google has revealed its plans regarding what’s coming next for its most interactive system, the Android XR. The company will be implementing two useful app modes: Home Space and Full Space. Demonstrating further, the Home Space is where the users will be able to multitask with the applications that are in a running side-by-side pattern along with the other apps.

Alternatively, another one is full space app mode, where an application takes center stage, allowing users to focus only on a single app at a time, with the other apps hidden. While the Home Space mode lets users run multiple apps at a time, offering users a constrained vision, the Full Space mode permits only one app to run at a time without having the limitations of space boundaries, providing an immersive peripheral vision.
Moreover, the Android XR-based Samsung XR headsets will offer a more immersive and interactive user experience. Since the Android XR SDK is currently available in Developer Preview, therefore, through these features, it appears like Google will be extending some new yet useful features that in turn help users to have a connected experience across its platform.
