Google Workspace offers a wide range of applications that are used for different purposes. While the company is always looking towards enhancing the overall experience in order to make it more convenient for the users, recent reports deliver a significant piece of information that adds a backup functionality in Google Messages.

According to the information presented by Android Authority while digging into Google Messages UI. They found that Google seems to be reportedly working on adding the backup feature within its messaging service, though.

Currently, users are only allowed to choose to back up their SMS and MMS messages in the form of other device data while using the Google One app in order to create a phone backup; however, Messages doesn’t permit this process directly as it doesn’t have its own backup functionality.

Meanwhile, a new UI has just been fleshed out that eventually indicates that new settings will be added for managing the backup process in Google Messages. But the new UI, however, doesn’t reflect any settings related to the current storage status of the user’s Google Account, just like Gmail.

Alternatively, if everything feels in place, then Google Messages may soon be going to have a dedicated backup solution that will allow Android smartphones, including Samsung Galaxy models, to easily and seamlessly back up their messages safely into their Google Account storage.

Earlier, it’s been reported that Galaxy devices might not come pre-installed with Samsung Messages; thus, it will be replaced with Google Messages.
