Identity Check Feature Rolls Out for Pixels, Coming Soon to One UI 7 Galaxy Devices

Samsung Galaxy smartphones could soon get an extra layer of security via the ‘Identity Check” feature.
Currently, Galaxy devices and other smartphones allow users to stay connected with their friends and family, making it available for them to access everything right at their fingertips. It can also invite identity theft, financial fraud, and other possible risks when reached into unauthorized hands.
Previously it was reported that Google is working on a versatile and comprehensive feature named Identity Check rolling out for its Pixel devices with Android 15 and will be available for Samsung Galaxy devices eligible for One UI 7.
Now Google started rolling out the Identity Check security feature widely to Google Pixel smartphones. When users enable this feature, “explicit biometric authentication” will be mandatory to access various features or make changes to sensitive settings, for instance, changing your device PIN or biometrics, disabling theft protection, or accessing Passkeys.

Samsung is also expected to start rolling out the stable One UI 7 to its older Galaxy devices soon; potentially the update could include the Identity Check feature. However, there’s no official word regarding this expectation yet, so it remains to be seen whether the Galaxy devices will get this feature with One UI 7 or any other update.
