Samsung’s Galaxy AI plays an overwhelming part that offers huge modifications to its software skin, One UI. Accompanied by various other AI-powered features, including Chat Assist, Summarize, and Transcript, the Writing Assist is the most significant factor.

Well, with One UI 7, Samsung will now allow Writing Assist to be used without being locked up in Samsung Keyboard.

One UI 7 Removes Keyboard Restriction for Galaxy AI Writing Features

After acknowledging that Samsung Keyboard behaves inconsistently, also a lot of desired elements are not available for the users that apparently makes the entire Galaxy AI less effective; Samsung is soon making changes to the entire behavior, letting you use the Writing Assist AI tool outside of Samsung Keyboard.

With various Galaxy AI features being locked within their dedicated apps, Samsung has made certain changes in Writing Assist where the most significant Galaxy AI features will be available outside of Samsung Keyboard, meaning the users will not require Samsung’s own Keyboard in order to write assist as Google’s GBoard or any other keyboard can easily do the job.

When using the Writing Assist tool on a keyboard other than Samsung Keyboard, with One UI 7, users will notice a Galaxy AI logo being flashed alongside other options when highlighting the text, tapping which will open up a few Galaxy AI features of One UI 7, while you need to long-press on an empty text area and just tap on the Galaxy AI icon to access Writing Assist.

Alternatively, the Galaxy S25 series smartphones will be the first in line to hold every single change made by Samsung. However, this ability of Writing Assist may be limited to One UI 7 and will likely get featured in the Galaxy S24 lineup models alongside those smartphones that are eligible for the latest Android skin.
