One UI 7.0 Beta-Stable Gap Might Explain the Update Delay

It’s been a long time since Samsung fans have been waiting for the stable One UI 7 version that runs on Android 15 on top. Currently, the company is optimizing the new software in order to offer the best possible user experience.

While there could be a few other factors responsible for not releasing the stable version, here’s our opinion regarding Samsung’s continuous delay in making a stable One UI 7 update available for all.

Substantially, Samsung usually follows a pattern where it releases a new One UI x.1 update with the latest Galaxy S Series flagships, such as the One UI 6.1 version that came with the Galaxy S24 lineup and so on, while reserving One UI x.0 for previous generation devices, which keep on testing beta until stable is distributed.

Indeed, the x.1 update is packed with some more additional features that are gradually being distributed to the older devices running the x.0 build via a new software update.

Samsung Differentiates One UI 7.0 Beta and Stable – And to skip One UI 7.1!

Looking towards keeping One UI 7.0 features limited to S25 to increase sales of newer S series flagships. However, this time, the strategy seems to have been changed, as this time there’s no One UI 7.1 update (because if Samsung provides the One UI 7.1 version, the stable One UI 7.0 rollout will get more delayed since the company has to prepare for another software), and the Galaxy S25 has replaced the One UI 7.1 update and has arrived with a stable One UI 7.0 with some new features that are exclusive for the newer S series flagships, while the beta participants are currently testing the One UI 7 version; however, the build only has some limited features.

Well, Samsung has applied the same plan with the Galaxy Watch 7 and Ultra, launching them with One UI 6 Watch stable version, while the older watch owners kept testing beta. Now, it has been applied to the Galaxy S25 series, though.

It clearly implies that Samsung seems to be eyeing a strategic move that will provide a significant boost to sales of its newer flagships, the S25. Therefore, Samsung’s stable One UI 7 has some exclusive features like Now BriefAudio Eraser, and many more that are only limited to the S25 models and are not expanding to older devices.

This is what happened last year when One UI 6.1’s Galaxy AI features were initially limited to the latest Galaxy S series.
