One UI 7 Beta 5 for Galaxy S24: Two Hidden Features Not Listed in the Changelog

While the stable rollout for the Galaxy S24 series is expected to begin in April, Samsung has just released the One UI 7 Beta 5 update for the company’s previous flagship. The latest Android 15-based beta introduces a host of fixes and other improvements; it brings the two most useful features of the Now Bar that were previously exclusive to the Galaxy S25 series.
Galaxy S24’s One UI 7 Beta 5 introduces Sports from Google integration within the Now Bar
Originally introduced in the Galaxy S25 lineup via the Galaxy AOD app update, Now Bar just received the Google Sports integration for the Galaxy S24 lineup with the newly released One UI 7 Beta 5 update.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy S24 series owners will now be able to have a more refined sports UI experience via the Now Bar, making it a lot easier to see all the latest news and content related to the sports world quickly at a glance on AOD.
Beta 5 adds media playback live activity on Notification Panel and the status bar
Beyond this, the latest One UI 7 Beta 5 update in the Galaxy S24 smartphones further adds the media playback widget directly accessible via the device’s notification center, a functionality that was highlighted with the One UI 7 Beta update released for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6, while also integrating the support of music live activity within the Now Bar on the Status Bar and also on the AOD.

Since Samsung seems to be eyeing more advancements within its Galaxy smartphones via the One UI 7 skin as it’s moving closer to its stability, the Now Bar has happened to be one of the crucial factors.
While the company is continuing the beta stakes for the Galaxy S24 series, with the 5th beta already going live, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 have just received the 2nd beta update of the latest Android 15-based software skin.
