Samsung Galaxy users get ready to experience Android’s Instant Hotspot feature with the Android 15-based One UI 7, as Google has now changed course on the matter, bringing support for Instant Hotspot to the Galaxy S25 and later expanding to older Galaxy devices.

Last year, Google introduced a convenient feature called Instant Hotspot with Android 15. However, Samsung didn’t adopt the feature initially since it already offers a similar feature called Auto Hotspot. Finally, the Korean giant seems to adopt the Instant Hotspot feature to enhance the connectivity experience.

Galaxy S25 users are now compatible with the Instant Hotspot feature that allows them to share their phone’s internet connection with any Android tablet.

According to the report from one of our reliable colleagues, Android Authority, Google says that its Instant Hotspot feature is finally available on the Samsung Galaxy S25 based on Android 15 (One UI 7). Currently, the feature is spotted on the Galaxy S25 but later will arrive on other Galaxy devices with One UI 7.

Google Instant Hotspot Sharing Feature on Samsung Phones

The Instant Hotspot feature authorizes any Android smartphone, tablet, or Chromebook to instantly connect to an Android phone’s hotspot; however, it requires all devices to be signed into the same Google account.

Initially, this feature was not available on Galaxy devices since Samsung offers its dedicated Auto Hotspot feature. There’s a minor difference between both features; for instance, Auto Hotspot is only compatible with Galaxy devices, so your Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra can automatically connect to your Galaxy Z Flip 6 hotspot. You would need to manually configure the hotspot on a non-Galaxy device.

Finally, it’s confirmed that Instant Hotspot is compatible with Galaxy devices as well. A new update on Google’s support page also confirms the same thing. Now users will see a notification on their non-Galaxy tablets for permission if they want to use the phone’s hotspot.
