Samsung Galaxy A26 and Galaxy A56 get their first ever software update

Samsung renewed its one of the most-loved Galaxy A portfolio by introducing a few new smartphones, including the Galaxy A36, Galaxy A26, and the Galaxy A56 5G. At the same time, the company has started rolling out a new and first-ever software update as soon as the phones hit the retail store shelves.

More specifically, the Galaxy A26 and Galaxy A56 have already started getting their first-ever software update, which is basically the latest April 2025 security patch, where the A26 units are receiving it in Europe, while the Galaxy A56 models are getting it in Asian countries like Thailand.

At the same time, the updated firmware for both of the aforementioned devices is designated by the A266BXXS2AYC1 and A566BXXS2AYD3 build numbers.

Meanwhile, Samsung has offered the details of the new April 2025 security patch that, however, does not integrate any major features or changes; rather, it brought about a lot of improvements for the device’s overall security and core functionality. It integrates various key fixes for all the security vulnerabilities that have been addressed in the previous version in order to offer a more secure experience to the users while also protecting their devices against potential threats.

In addition, the update further adds stability to the overall system behavior and brings certain performance optimizations for an efficient user experience.
