Samsung could integrate Perplexity AI to replace Gemini

Samsung could bring an alternative option to ditch Gemini by integrating a new AI assistant called Perplexity into Galaxy smartphones.
Recently, Samsung replaced its dedicated Bixby virtual assistant with Google’s Gemini, and now it seems to be bringing a new option by integrating Perplexity.
Perplexity is an AI assistant like Google Gemini and ChatGPT, which has already reached a deal to become an integrated AI assistant on Motorola smartphones and is reportedly soon to be with Samsung.
A new report from Bloomberg revealed that Perplexity has already inked a deal with Motorola to integrate its assistant into the company’s smartphones as an alternative to Gemini. According to the report, the Korean tech giant is in the early stages, and it is anticipated to crack the deal, which could involve giving users the option to set Perplexity as the default AI assistant or having the app preloaded on Samsung devices.
The report hints that Samsung is looking forward to building a new relationship with Perplexity for a while, and its investment arm, ‘NEXT,’ has backed the startup since last year. However, there’s no official statement from Samsung regarding the potential partnership with Perplexity on Galaxy phones, it remains to be seen exactly what will happen next.
