Samsung’s PC Market Ambitions: Still Outside the Top 5 Tier

Samsung is one of the leading brands in the tech industry, but it is still behind in securing even the top fifth position in the PC market.
The Korean tech giant recently launched its latest laptop, the Galaxy Book 5 series, powered by Intel Core Ultra processors, and offers advanced AI capabilities and extended battery life. The company is actively working on expanding its ways in the PC market by introducing innovative Galaxy Books.
Meanwhile, a report from Counterpoint Research revealed that Samsung has failed to stand strong against established brands in the past couple of quarters. Despite its efforts, the company has not secured a spot in the list of the global PC market’s top five brands based on shipments.

According to the matrix, last year in Q4 2024 and recently in Q1 2025, Samsung seemingly held less than 6% of the global PC market based on shipments. However, the exact market share is not clear yet, but it should fall under 6%, since Asus stands out as the 5th largest PC brand, capturing exactly 6% of global PC shipments.
Lenovo secured first position with 25% market share, HP ranked second with 21% share, Dell in third place with 16% share, and then Apple with 10% market share. The matrix suggests that Samsung needs more efforts to stand strong against its rival brands in the PC market to secure the first position.
