Samsung is best among all the other Android partners in the smartphone industry when it comes to delivering the latest software updates to its Galaxy ecosystem. In the meantime, amongst the on-going April 2025 security update rollout, Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra units have started receiving the patch.
Even after Samsung has ended the major OS support for the devices, the Note 20 series are still eligible to get its relevant security patches and hence, the Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra models are getting the latest April security patch and the update is currently expanding in the US.
Specifically, the firmware for the Verizon carrier-locked Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra carries the N981USQSCHYD1 and N986USQSCHYD1 build number, respectively.
Meanwhile, it looks like this security patch; however, doesn’t introduce any new feature or changes; rather, it significantly adds a lot of fixes for the security vulnerabilities that were encountered in the previous version. It focuses on improving the device’s overall security and core functionality that eventually offers a more secure user experience, all while protecting the device against potential threats.
At the same time, the update further adds stability and reliability for the entire system behaviour, and even brings certain performance optimisations for a smoother, stable and optimised user experience.
