Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra upgraded with the April 2025 security patch

Amongst the on-going Android 15-based One UI 7 stable rollout for all the eligible Galaxy phones and tablets, Samsung is also focusing on dispatching the April 2025 security update for its devices as well. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Note 20 series have started getting the new patch.

Specifically, Samsung is rolling out a new software update for the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, which carry N981NKSS8HYD1 and N986NKSS8HYD1 build numbers, respectively, and is currently available in Samsung’s home country, South Korea.

The new update apparently integrates the latest April security patch that; however, doesn’t bring any major features and changes; rather it significantly focuses on improving the device’s overall security and core functionality.

It brings a lot of fixes for all the security vulnerabilities that were addressed in the previous version in order to provide a more secure user experience, all while protecting the device against potential threats.

At the same time, the update further adds improvements for the system stability and reliability, while also improving the device’s behavior that eventually helps users to have a more smooth, stable and optimized functionality. However, Samsung has already ended the major OS software support for the Galaxy Note 20 series, but it will continue to receive security patches according to its update policy.
