One UI 8 (Beta) Hands-on reveals new effects in Camera app on Galaxy S25 Ultra

Samsung’s track record for software support still remains among the best; however, the One UI 7 version seems to be an exception due to the delays. Now, since the Android 15-based stable update has been officially reaching more Galaxy devices, Samsung fans have started turning their focus to the next-gen One UI 8.

Well, the previous reports significantly suggest that Samsung could surprise the Galaxy family by releasing the first One UI 8 beta as early as June 2025, at least for the Galaxy S25 series.

Meanwhile, a new leak, sourced by Sammobile, popped up that eventually provides a slight idea of what could be expected with the next One UI iteration.

Primarily, the leaked report is basically a hands-on video of Samsung’s next-gen One UI 8 version running on the Galaxy S25 Ultra carrying a new firmware, S938BXXU3ZYEA, where Z usually depicts the version being beta software. Therefore, this seems to be an internal testing of One UI 8 Beta.

At the same time, this latest build is supposed to deliver a nice transparent effect to certain elements like the video resolution menu in the Camera app.

This transparency makes the entire UI of an app even more refreshed and enhances the pop-ups nicely due to a perfect background blur effect. However, the source further mentioned One UI 8 seems to be a minor update so far, but since Samsung has not made anything official, it’s hard to predict anything at this point in time.

Moreover, the previous report has already suggested that One UI 8 is supposed to bring various enhancements to the Samsung DeX UI, refine Galaxy Buds controls, and more. Not only this, the new build is said to deliver smoother and more fluid animations, strengthen Now Bar functionality, integrate Galaxy AI-based video summary features, and even 12 GB of virtual RAM via RAM Plus.
