One UI 8 to boost Now Bar on Galaxy phones by integrating more app support

Samsung appears to be paving ways for its next major OS, One UI 8 as there is plenty of buzz all around regarding the upcoming version that is supposed to run Android 16 on top. Meanwhile, another leak has just been added to the list, suggesting a significant upgrade in the Now Bar functionality.

Well, One UI 7 debuted Now Bar feature, a more dynamic notification system that apparently allowed Galaxy phone owners to get all the key information related to a few live activities, including Alarm, Clock, Interpreter, Samsung Health, and Music playback at a glance on the lock screen, home screen and AOD

It seems like the feature will follow some major refinements with One UI 8. According to the leak shared by a user GamerOmega, via X, Samsung is set to integrate support for even more apps within the Now Bar with the upcoming One UI 8 build. Yes, you read it right!

This certainly suggests that the Galaxy family will be able to have live notifications via the Now Bar for even more apps with Samsung’s upcoming Android 16-based version, other than the currently supported activities listed above.

Not only this, earlier reports significantly reveal that One UI 8 may change the way Galaxy phones feel. At the same time, it could bring Now Brief to even more older Galaxy devices, could bring RAM Plus upgrade, could display call logs on home screen via a new widget, it may bring Galaxy AI-powered video summary feature and also, the upcoming is also supposed to house features that were arriving with One UI 7.1
