One UI 8 could upgrade Now Bar on Cover screen for Galaxy Z Flip phones

Amidst the stable One UI 7 rollout for all the eligible Galaxy devices, One UI 8 is the new talk of the town. Well, Samsung has expanded the Now Bar feature to more older generation models with the current update; recent leak suggests that One UI 8 will offer a big upgrade of this feature’s functionality for the Galaxy Z Flip phones.

Basically, the Now Bar feature is a new dynamic notification system that provides all the key information at a glance on the phone’s lock screen, home screen and AOD without having to unlock the phone.

However, One UI 7 brought a slightly tuned down version of Now Bar for the Galaxy Z Flip foldables, which looks strange in front of the full-fledged function that’s available on the phone’s lock screen. Meanwhile, a recent leak by a user, GamerOmega via X, One UI 8 is supposed to bring a major upgrade in the Now Bar’s functionality for Samsung’s Flip foldable series.

Galaxy Z Flip with One UI 8

The next software will simply make it possible to have a full-fledged Now Bar on the Z Flip’s cover screen as well that exactly resembles the pill-shaped bar that’s functional on the device’s lock screen.

At the same time, even though the newest One UI 8 is still in its early stages of development, the video shows off the smoothe and more efficient functioning of Now Bar on the Galaxy Z Flip’s cover screen. It displays all the key live activities such as Clock, Alarm, Interpreter, Samsung Health, and more perfectly in a pill-shaped bar on the cover screen.

However, it’s just a leak and can not be considered true until there’s no official confirmation from Samsung’s side. Not only this, as of now, several leaks and rumours are already circulating that includes addition of 12GB virtual RAM via RAM Plus, Galaxy AI-powered video summary feature, displaying of call logs on home screen via a new widget and more.
