Samsung’s Android XR Headset Could Surpass Apple Vision Pro in Display Tech

Samsung’s latest Project Moohan headset beat Apple’s headset in terms of display specifications, anticipated to efficiently lead the market.
Recently, Samsung unveiled its awaited Project Moohan XR headset at MWC 2025; however, it hasn’t shared detailed information regarding the device yet, except that the headset will pack Qualcomm’s most powerful VR chip, the Snapdragon XR2 Plus Gen 2.
Now a new report from TheElec has revealed some juicy specifications of the headset’s displays, according to which it will feature 1.3-inch 4K OLEDoS (OLED on Silicon) panels from Sony with a support of 3,800 ppi pixel density.
The newly leaked specifications make the panels sharper than Apple uses for its Vision Pro headset that supports 3,391 ppi. This could be an efficient chance for Samsung to lead the headset market with its first-ever XR headset debut.
The Korean tech giant is expected to sell around 100,000 units of its premium XR headset. However, the exact launch timeline for the headset is unclear yet, but reportedly the parts suppliers that Samsung has collaborated with for its XR headset will begin mass production next month.
Samsung has yet to reveal the official details of the Moohan XR headset, including display specifications, so it remains to see whether these leaked details will come into existence.
