Samsung to face Competition from Apple in the Foldable Segment next year

Samsung is supposed to debut its eighth-generation foldable devices; Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 next year which is anticipated to face a rival with Apple’s first foldable iPhone. 

Samsung and Apple are the two biggest rivals of each other in the tech industry and both brands never miss the chance to stand against whether in terms of innovation, devices, hardware, or software. 

Samsung is already the leading firm in the foldable market and is also actively working on expanding its foldable family by debuting more devices. Currently, it has a bunch of devices in the pipeline to launch this year; including, Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, Galaxy Z Flip FE, and a trifold phone Galaxy G Fold

Until now Samsung has had to deal with Chinese rivals only in the foldable market, but from next year onwards it also have to compete with Apple. A new report suggests that Apple is planning to launch the first foldable iPhone in 2026. 

As per the ritual to debut the latest-generation foldable smartphones each year the Korean giant is expected to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 in 2026. Meanwhile, GF Securities’ Jepp Pu revealed, that Apple is gearing up to introduce its first foldable iPhone next year. 

The analyst also says that Apple will start mass-producing it in the second half of 2026. Meanwhile, it also reported that the company would price the first foldable iPhone at more than $2,000. It remains to see how Samsung will complete the forthcoming foldable iPhone.
