Samsung Galaxy S22 Series One UI 5.0 Update
The Galaxy S22 received positive feedback worldwide, selling over 10.9 million units worldwide. It was already speculated when the Galaxy S22 ultra arrived with the stylus; the Note was gone. The work was done when TM Roh briefed that “the Galaxy Note will come in the form of Galaxy S Ultra every year starting this year”.
All the models come with 5G models only, with Galaxy S22 Ultra having a 6.8-inch 2X AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and a QHD resolution. In contrast, Galaxy S22 Plus has a 6.6-inch display, and the S22 has 6.1 inches. All the three models sport the same processor variants, i.e., Exynos 2200 (4 nm) – Europe while Qualcomm SM8450 Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (4 nm) rest of the regions.
Latest & Recent Developments:
The latest monthly update was seen this July in the US, Canada, Europe and many other parts of the world for both locked & unlocked variants.
Although Samsung hasn’t released any official statement regarding the One UI 5.0, it is probably doing its regular internal testing first. Although, there were rumours already for One UI 5 beta testing in July & its release. Samsung is most likely to bundle One UI 5.0 along with Android13. In June, a screenshot showed a precursor Android 13 build running on Galaxy S22 Ultra in South Korea with firmware version number S906NKSU2ZVF6.
Currently, the Android 13 beta is for non-Samsung devices. Still, UI changes such as some UI elements are revamped, like settings and power shortcuts to the Quick Settings menu.
The series has three models, namely;
- Galaxy S22 Ultra (SM-S908E/B)
- Galaxy S22+ (SM-S906E/B)
- Galaxy S22 (SM-S901E/B)
The series comes on board with Android 12 accompanying One UI 4.1.
The latest flagship for the Galaxy S series from Samsung will receive the latest OS & UI upgrade in upcoming years according to Samsung’s 4-year Software Support Policy.
The series also receives monthly updates, including Google & Samsung’s monthly security & privacy issues fixes known as CVEs & SMRs.
