The Digital Key is a very new feature of Samsung Wallet that provides a space to store the digital key to unlock or lock cars; earlier, the facility is limited to some countries like South Korea and the US. But with the latest development, this feature is expanding to more countries; a few days ago, it was available in Brazil, and now it is available in Australia.

What is the specialty of Digital Key?

The Digital Key function is used for locking or unlocking your car. This work as a counterpart physical key. To connect with your car, it uses NFC and Ultra-Wide Band technology. This works very smartly as you don’t have to put out your phone from your pocket. With a digital key, you can also turn on the ignition of your car; to do so, you have to just put your device on the charging port of your car.

The service is currently available for BMW car’s selected models, including 320i, 330e, 420i, 530e, X1, X3, X4, X6, M3, X6M, i4, iX3, and iX. To use the digital key, you should have these Galaxy devices:

  • Galaxy S20 series: all models apart from S20FE
  • Note 20 Series: Note 20, Note 20 Ultra
  • Galaxy S21 series : S21, S21+, S21 Ultra, S21 FE
  • Galaxy S22 series : S22, S22+, S22 Ultra
  • Galaxy S23 series: S23, S23+, S23 Ultra
  • Galaxy Z-Flip: Z-Flip 5G, Z-Flip3, Z-Flip4,
  • Galaxy Z-Fold: Z-Fold2, Z-Fold3, Z-Fold4
