Samsung is ensuring its Canadian users of Galaxy devices have the latest security patches by rolling out the June 2023 update for a range of Galaxy devices. Following the release of the flagship Galaxy S23 series, the company expanded the update to include the Galaxy S22 Series, Fold 4, Flip 4, Fold 3, Fold 2, Flip 3, Note 20 Series, and A53.
Now, Samsung is extending the Android June 2023 security update to older flagship and mid-range devices in Canada. This includes the Galaxy S20 5G series (including S20+ and S20 Ultra), Galaxy S20 FE 5G, Galaxy S21 FE, and Galaxy A52 5G devices.
The specific software versions for the update are G98*WVLU5HWF5 for the Galaxy S20 5G series, G990WVLU7EWF2 for the Galaxy S21 FE 5G, G781WVLU9HWF1 for the Galaxy S20 FE 5G, F707WVLU5HWE4 for the Galaxy Z Flip 5G, and A526WVLS9EWF4 for the Galaxy A52 5G.
According to official documentation from Samsung, the latest update includes over 60 security fixes, enhancing the devices’ overall security. However, the update is not limited to security improvements alone; it may also enhance other internal functions of the devices. Samsung has addressed various internal function issues related to Exynos baseband, CC Mode, Knox ID, and more.
If you own one of the devices mentioned above and reside in Canada, you should receive a notification for the update. Sometimes, it may take a couple of days for the update to reach all devices, so it’s advisable to be patient. Alternatively, you can manually check for the update by going to your device’s system settings.
