Samsung improved Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 camera performance under new upgrade

Samsung is known for its innovation, whether in software or hardware; the company always tries its best to introduce new things with new devices. The new foldable phones (the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5) are the perfect example. The company hasn’t introduced any new hardware changes for the camera. Still, to improve its performance, the Korean giant has introduced some tweaks in the software to enhance the performance of different functions.

Samsung improves several functions to improve image quality in different conditions

Recently, Samsung published some detailed improvements to the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 cameras. Let’s know about them:

Selfies and front portrait mode

Now you will get a warm tone feature for the front camera picture; with this feature, you will get a soft skin tone, while in the natural tone, you will get a clear, three-dimensional skin tone. It also uses AI to enhance the quality of photos. The AI separates all the elements of your face and adjusts the brightness and sharpness to bring out the best photo quality.

Additionally, the new Galaxy Foldable is equipped with a Dual Pixel (2PD) sensor, which works to obtain depth map accuracy, which enhances the Quality of portrait photos.

Night photography

Night photography now has some enhancements in taking photos; now it’s faster with an improved CPU and NPU. The low-light performance also improved; now, the new foldable will take less noise and better-adjusted brightness to get the best night photo.

Samsung enhances the zoom function with improvements

To enhance the image quality of the high magnification sections where digital zoom is applied, high-resolution image generation technology based on AI is being implemented

The AI technology will help to reduce the degradation of image quality in digital zooming; it performs multi-frame synthesis using multiple frames to preserve the detailed expression of the original image and remove noise.

The Galaxy Z Fold 5’s under-display camera (UDC) is now better

In the latest Galaxy Z Fold 5, Samsung has improved the performance of the under-display camera; as you know, the under-display camera is very much affected by the pixel count of the display over it. However, now Samsung has improved its quality by improving the HDR (high dynamic range), which uses multi-frame technology to improve the oversaturation of brightness and blurring caused by low transmittance. While fixing the problem of blurry photos, Samsung once again uses AI to improve the resolution of photos and structure them.

Document scanning is also improved

Usually, when you take images of any document, you are not able to get a clear image at the first shot; most of the time, it gets blurred slightly, so to reduce the blur of the images, Samsung has improved it by applying the AI restructure model to it so that you can get reduced blurred scanning of texts.

When taking a picture of a document, sometimes you have to hold the document with your hand and take a picture. The obstruction (finger) erasing function uses AI to find an area containing an obstruction element. Then it analyzes the pattern of the surrounding background to fill in the obstruction area with the most similar pattern.

Several Gallery functions were improved

Samsung has now introduced a copy-and-paste editing effects function in the gallery. With the help of this function, users can easily apply the same editing effects to any photo. The photo remaster is also faster for Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 devices.
