Samsung is continuously rolling out the new security patch update to its Galaxy devices, but the company is not following any pattern to expand the update. Previously, it has updated some mid-range, then entry-level, and then midrange devices, and now The Korean giant is rolling out the August 2023 security patch update for the Galaxy S20 series devices. Along with the main series, the Fan Edition device is also getting the same update.

Notably, the Galaxy S20 series devices are getting new updates in European countries. Currently,  the update is spotted in Germany; however, it will be gradually expanded to all of Europe. Users who own the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra can identify the latest update by the firmware version numbers G981BXXSIHWGA, G986BXXSIHWGA, and G988BXXSIHWGA, respectively.

The August 2023 security update is the latest security patch for Galaxy devices. The update includes 85 fixes that improve the security of the devices; apart from this, it may also include some improvements for the performance and stability of the devices.
