One UI 5 Watch: A major update with major changes
For a couple of months, Samsung was testing its watch UI in the beta phase, and after receiving feedback in multiple beta updates, the company has released the stable update, which was released a week ago in two countries: South Korea and the US. Now the company is expanding in Europe and some African countries, including Egypt.
The One UI Watch 5 brings a lot of new changes to multiple existing features, including watch faces and tiles and Samsung Health. In addition to these, more new changes are made, like dictating text with the home button, using multiple timers at once, organizing the app in a folder, and many more. The units of the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5 are getting the new update with firmware version numbers R8xxXXU1HWH3 and R9xxXXU1BWH3 respectively. The latest update is still using the July patch. It is worth noticing that the update is only limited to the Bluetooth models of these watches.
The Galaxy Watch series was introduced by Samsung in 2021. It comes with the One UI Watch 3 based on WearOS, and Samsung has promised to give new updates for the watches. The fifth-series Galaxy watch was introduced immediately next year with an upgraded One UI Watch 4.5. In the year 2022, the company issued an updated policy where it promised to give at least four years of One UI updates, which means if you own the Galaxy Watch 4, then you will get the update till 2025, while the Galaxy Watch 5 owners will get the update till 2026.
