Unlocked Galaxy S22 get September 2023 security update in the US
Samsung has rolled out the September 2023 security update for the unlocked variant of Galaxy S22 series devices. Earlier, the Korean giant released the update to the locked variant on several carriers, including US Cellular, Verizon, T-Mobile, MetroPCS, and Dish Wireless.
Notably, the Galaxy S22’s unlocked variants are now getting a new update with the firmware version number S90*U1UES3CWH3. The latest update includes only a new security patch that fixes over 60 issues found on Galaxy devices.
According to the official documentation of Samsung, the latest September 2023 update includes several fixes that were added by Samsung and Google. In detail, Google has added 27 fixes for resolving the issues found in the Android operating system. Along with this, Samsung has also included 35 more security vulnerability fixes exclusively for Galaxy devices.

The latest update for unlocked variants of the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra is currently spotted on US Cellular. It is expected that the company will expand the update to more carriers and make it available to every Galaxy S22 owner.
The September 2023 security update is now live for the Galaxy S22 in the US. Users can now check it manually by going to the software update menu through the main system settings. The update is rolling out in batches, so it may take some time to reach every available device.

Samsung launched the Galaxy S22 in 2022. The device came with Android 12 preinstalled. Later, the device will receive more major updates, and currently, it is running on the One UI 5.1. Samsung has promised to give at least five years of software support, in which the device will receive three Android updates and several security patches.
