Samsung Galaxy devices to get Google Assistant with Bard integration

Google held a sizable event yesterday in New York called Made by Google. The most exciting part of the event was the introduction of two new phones, the Pixel 8 and the Pixel 8 Pro. These phones are in direct competition with the Galaxy S23 and the Galaxy S23 Ultra from Samsung.

But Google didn’t stop there; the firm revealed Assistant with Bard, which “combines Bard’s generative and reasoning capabilities with Assistant’s personalized help.” The functionality combines Bard’s conversational AI with Google Assistant to assist with more complex activities that go beyond simple instructions. It works with text, audio, or pictures in addition to voice instructions. This includes being able to delve into your own Google apps, such as Gmail and Google Drive, to provide personalized solutions to inquiries on an opt-in basis.

One UI 6 All New Features and Changes Now Official

That means you could ask Google Assistant queries like “catch me up on my important emails I’ve missed this week,” and the digital assistant will find emails you need to know about. Also, the business introduced Assistant with Bard, a reimagining of the familiar assistant based on generative artificial intelligence capable of merging Bard’s generative and reasoning powers with personalized assistance from Assistant. It will be available on Android and iOS mobile devices in the next few months, and it will be possible to communicate with it via text, speech, or photos.

Assistant with Bard’s “conversational overlay” hovers above your screen and receives text, voice, or image input from the user. Assistant with Bard will be available to selected testers soon and will be available as an opt-in option in the following months. Assistant with Bard will be designed with your privacy in mind, allowing you to select your desired privacy settings. Assistant with Bard is also multimodal, which means you can submit a photo and ask it for image-related information, such as which way to walk on a path.

It can catch up on emails, acquire directions from Google Maps, and create shopping lists based on ideas you’ve written in Docs. Google Assistant with Bard is now in the testing phase, and it will soon reach out to users.

samsung DeX

Samsung DeX is one of the most appreciative features of Galaxy devices, which allows users to take advantage of several applications on the desktop directly through their connected smartphone. However, the availability of the feature is limited to some devices.

In simple words, the application is available for flagship devices, but the feature was still absent from the Flip lineup. With the latest Galaxy Z Flip 6, Samsung has introduced desktop mode for the devices, But it’s not similar to the Samsung DeX.

However, it is currently spotted by Android Authority, which claims it. The feature is hidden under the One UI 6.1.1 settings, and to enable it, the developer has to force desktop mode on. According to the screenshot shared, it lacks some features like Taskbar.

Meanwhile, the multi-window feature works seamlessly; it even allows you to resize and move app windows. However, the split screen feature displays on the phone’s screen rather than the external display, and the maximize and minimize buttons for windows don’t work.

It looks like an internal experiment run by Samsung, and it may soon work seamlessly in the coming days by capturing more potential in the desktop mode for the Galaxy Z Flip series.
