Samsung expands Android 14 One UI 6 update for Galaxy A34 and A54 in more countries
Samsung has already introduced the One UI 6 update to the Galaxy A34 and Galaxy A54 in some regions, including the US. Now, the company has started expanding the update to more units of these devices. It looks like Samsung has planned to distribute the update to the remaining units and then jump to other devices.
As both of the devices belong to the midrange segment, it doesn’t come as any surprise that the Galaxy A34 and Galaxy A54 have started receiving a wider rollout of One UI 6 rapidly. The other reason behind it is that these devices have already been running on the beta program; therefore, the company doesn’t have to take extra effort to provide the update.
At the moment, Samsung has targeted the European market and started expanding the update for the devices in different countries. The Galaxy A34 has received the One UI 6 update in several countries, including Austria, Croatia, France, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Slovenia, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, and the UK. It is carrying the firmware version number A346BXXU4BWK2.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy A54 has started receiving the One UI 6 update, mainly in European countries. The latest update is carrying the version number A546BXXU5BWK4. Along with this, both devices are also receiving the new security update in the form of a November 2023 patch, which will apply a fresh set of fixes that will enhance the security mechanisms of devices.
The One UI 6 update is coming with several new features and improvements for your device. As usual, if you want to check the latest update for your device, you just need to open the system settings, tap on the software update option, select Download and Install, and if new firmware is available, hit the Download button.
- Renewed phone layout: new control panel, new widgets (new camera and album widgets, weather widgets), revamped font, new emojis, ability to create new stickers directly integrated into the keyboard.
- Camera: The overall layout of the Camera app has been simplified. The quick settings buttons on the preview screen have been redesigned to make it easier to understand. Now, in the quick settings menu, at the top of the screen, in Photos and Pro mode, there is a button that allows you to quickly change the resolution of the photos you take.
- New photo editor: improved layout, new Tools menu that makes it easy to find editing functions. The Straighten and Perspective options have been combined in the Transform menu.
- New Samsung Studio: New Video Editor for media creation. The Studio feature now allows you to create videos by joining those in the gallery, adding text, music, and stickers.
- Improved security: New privacy dashboard for controlling permission allowed for each app, new Auto-Lock feature that allows you to block installation of unknown apps, turn on security controls, and block commands via USB, the new security dashboard allows you to monitor each individual app.
- Bixby text call: New Bixby feature, which allows you to transfer an ongoing call to Bixby text call at any time.
- The new Document and Text Scan feature makes it easier to scan a document by deleting unwanted parts.
- Samsung Pass: More secure logins with passkeys to access supported apps and websites. Unlike passwords, the passkey is only stored on the device and cannot be disclosed in the event of a breach of the security of the website. Passkeys also protect against phishing attacks because they only work on the website or application where they were registered.
