In the first week of the month, Samsung initiated the December 2023 security patch distribution with the Galaxy S23 devices. Later, it expanded it to more eligible devices, but as usual for Canadian users, the company took some time and has now started releasing the update to several Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy Note 20 series, Galaxy Z Fold 2, and Galaxy A53.

The update is part of the device maintenance program of Google, which focuses on providing security enhancements to devices. With the December 2023 update, there are more than 60 fixes introduced. From them, there are 50 fixes included by Google and 16 fixes by Samsung.

Moreover, with the latest version, you will get the benefit of extra protection of your data against some external threats, including phishing, malware, or spasms, which can be harmful to your device. To get rid of this, you just need to update your device to the latest version.

Users who own the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S22, and Galaxy Note 20 can identify the latest update by the firmware version numbers S91*WVLS2BWKA, S90*WVLS3DWK7, and N98*WVLS6HWK1, respectively. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Galaxy A53 are receiving the same update with the firmware version numbers F916WVLS5KWK1 and A536WVLS8DWL1, respectively.

The December 2023 update is now available for download on all the above-mentioned devices, but it may take some time to reach every unit of these devices, so if you don’t get a notification about the update, you can also check it manually by following these steps: Go to the system settings, then tap on the software update, tap download and install, and then wait until it finishes searching. If it says a new update is available, then tap on the download button.
