Samsung rolls out January 2024 security patch for the Galaxy S20 series in Europe

Samsung has rolled out the January 2024 security patch to several of its latest flagship devices, including the Galaxy S23, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and many more. Now,  the company has started rolling out the update for older flagship devices, like the Galaxy S20 series.

As of writing, the January 2024 security patch for the Galaxy S20 devices has been spotted in Europe. Users who own the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra can identify the latest update by the firmware version numbers G981BXXSIHWL1, G986BXXSIHWL1 and G988BXXSIHWL1 respectively.

The January 2024 update is part of a maintenance program run by Google to bring some security-related fixes for Android devices to provide better protection for the devices. However, for Galaxy devices, the company has also provided some more fixes, so users will get some exclusive security support for their devices.

If you are also using the Galaxy S20 Series smartphones in Europe, you should start getting notifications about the update availability. If you haven’t received the update yet, you can also do it manually by going to the system settings.
