Breaking: Galaxy S24 Camera Gets Major Update in Canada and US

Published

on

Samsung Galaxy S24 users are getting some issues related to some functions, like screen issues and some camera issues, after purchasing the devices. It is worth noticing that the issues are reported in all three models of the devices, including the Galaxy S24 base, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra. To address the issues, the company has rolled out the February 2024 patch.

According to the information, the February 2024 security patch has already been received in some units of Galaxy S24 devices, but it was limited to South Korea. But now, with more expansion, the company has started rolling out the update in the US and Canada.

More specifically, the carrier-locked by unit of the Galaxy S24 is spotted getting the update with the firmware version number S92*USQU1AXB7. It is currently available on Spectrum Mobile and is expected to be available to more carriers in the next few days. While the Canadian units of the Galaxy S24 Seris are getting the update with the firmware version number S92*WVLU1AXB5.

Galaxy S24 Series Camera Now Improved

With the February 2024 security patch, Samsung has brought some camera improvements; according to the changelog, it has improved the image quality and sharpness. Along with this, the company has also addressed the vividness option and added a new way to adjust the vividness of your screen. As the normal security update brings some new internal improvements, like new optimization code, which will give more stability and reliability, the device behavior has also been improved, and security has also been enhanced.

Samsung had anticipated the arrival of novelties also for the photographic sector, with improvements for the zoom functions of the devices, the Portrait mode, the night shots (Nightography), the video shooting functions of the rear camera and more. With the release of the update we finally have the details. Thanks to the official South Korean community we have the list of improvements introduced, which mainly concern Galaxy S24 Ultra:

  • improved image quality in backlight situations, through brightness adjustment;
  • improved text clarity when using high magnification zoom on Galaxy S24 Ultra;
  • improved clarity and image quality when recording video with rear camera on the Galaxy S24 Ultra;
  • increased brightness in dark areas indoors and improved subject sharpness in the Galaxy S24 Ultra preview;
  • improved expression in food mode by further applying chromatic data;
  • improved colors through saturation adjustment and white balance in night mode;
  • improved image quality when zooming in on the gallery after shooting with the DNG format in the Expert RAW app;
  • improved the expression of fast-moving subjects in backlight conditions with the rear camera (Galaxy S24 Ultra only);
  • improved exposure and color expression of subjects (people, flowers, etc. etc.) in photo mode (Galaxy S24 Ultra only).

The development team added that changes and improvements that were not included in this update will come through an upcoming update.

How to update

In these hours the distribution now started in Canada and the US. If there are no problems, in the next few hours the update should expand globally, starting from non-branded smartphones.
