Surprising: Samsung Galaxy A55 Could Arrive With 12GB of RAM Even Being A Mid-Range
Samsung surprised its fan community by gearing up to add an extra variant with 12GB of RAM for the Galaxy A55.
Recent reports point out that the Korean giants will introduce a new 12GB of RAM variant of the Galaxy A55, which is undoubtedly unexpected. The brand has recently debuted its latest flagship Galaxy S24 series, which includes the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra, and all of them have 12 GB of RAM.
This is being speculated by multiple new benchmark entries for the Galaxy A55 on the Geekbench website, which have revealed that the mid-range device could have a variant along with 12GB of RAM. The Galaxy device variant with 12GB of RAM is exclusive, since the giants usually offer 12GB of RAM to selected flagship smartphones. That’s the main reason the fan community is surprised by this report. (Via- SamMobile)
Fortunately, if this report comes true, then the Galaxy A55 will be the first mid-range Samsung Galaxy device to get 12 GB of RAM. Usually, Samsung offers this much RAM mostly in the flagship smartphone, but now, to enhance the experience of customers, especially those who prefer mid-range devices, Samsung is setting up to introduce a 12GB RAM variant of the forthcoming mid-range Galaxy A55 device.
However, the reason behind this change in increasing RAM in mid-range devices is not clear yet, and 12GB of RAM will also go well with the Exynos 1480, which will be Samsung’s first mid-range chip with AMD-powered graphics. The increased RAM should also help with UI smoothness, which has been an Achilles heel for the mid-range as well as the budget-friendly device of Samsung for a long time, and reduce stutter, especially when the device is pushed beyond its limits.
This change will result in a reduction in the dependence of the OS on virtual memory and the RAM Plus feature to keep background applications from being killed too quickly. At the moment, it is also not clear whether the giants, along with RAM, also increase the internal storage on the Galaxy A55. The brand is expected to expand this new change into more mid-range devices after the Galaxy A55.
