Samsung, to enhance the capturing experience, introduced the Super HDR feature with its Galaxy S24 flagship series. Against expectations, along with the One UI 6.1 update, Samsung didn’t attach this feature to older flagship devices.

2023 Galaxy flagship devices already grabbed the Android 14-based One UI 6.1 update, which was intended to bring the Super HDR feature, but expectations can’t be satisfied as the update did not bring the feature.

One UI 6.1 update brings almost all Galaxy AI features to the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Tab S9 series, and Galaxy Z Fold 5 series, which are available on the Galaxy S24 series, but it has been noticed that Super HDR is missing.

Samsung introduced the Super HDR feature, which is used to integrate multiple images of different exposures into a single, well-balanced picture in RAW format. Regarding this feature, users asked whether the Super HDR feature would arrive on older Galaxy phones with the coming software update.

As a response to the concerns of users, the Samsung forum moderator confirmed the feature will only be limited to the Galaxy S24. This feature would not come to older flagship devices even after having a high-end camera specification as well as OLED screens with HDR. It seems that maybe the Super HDR feature needs to be supported by the processor and the screen.

The Super HDR feature comes into existence from the Ultra HDR feature of Google, which arrived with Android 14, and from where Samsung took the idea to build Super HDR.
