Samsung Galaxy S25 Likely to Feature Exynos 2500 Chip as Per New Report
Samsung is actively working on expanding its flagship S-series by introducing a next-gen Galaxy S25 series, which is expected to bring an entirely new mobile experience with expanded AI tools, decent design, new features, and improved specs.
It is expected that Samsung could design the forthcoming Galaxy S25 series similar to Apple’s next-gen iPhone 16 Pro and could bring the next-gen UFS memory for faster data transfer. Samsung introduced dozens of Galaxy AI tools under the Galaxy AI title on the Galaxy S24; now it seems that the Galaxy S25 will bring more generative AI tools as the expansion of Galaxy AI and Google’s TPU chipset are probably integrated for enhancing AI performance.
Jumping on the processor of the Galaxy S25 series, it is expected that Samsung could power the Galaxy S25 Ultra with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, and the rest of the two variants—the Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25—might be powered by an in-house Exynos 2500 chipset.
Samsung’s Exynos 2500 chipset is reportedly more advanced than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in some aspects. In the predecessor series, the Galaxy S23, Samsung completely relied on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 after the failure of the Exynos 2200 chipset, but with the current Galaxy S24 series, the brand has returned to its in-house solutions developed internally, and it seems that this will not change in the future.
If the reports are to be believed, it appears that the giant has plans to match the efficiency of the Snapdragon chips with the Exynos 2500 processor, the new chipset that will be manufactured on Samsung Foundry’s second-generation 3nm process node (SF3). If the report comes true, then the Korean giant will be the first to begin mass production of 3nm chips using a new transistor structure called Gate All-Around (GAA), which can decrease power losses, raise drive current, upgrade efficiency, and reduce heat.
Previously, it was reported that the company plans to build two variants of its new processor: the Exynos 2500-A with 8 cores and the Exynos 2500-B with 10 cores, both with tensor processing units and an Xclipse 950 GPU.
This time, the expectation from Samsung is to use the Exynos 2500 chipset on the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus, although the Galaxy S25 Ultra should arrive with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.
