Samsung has delivered this month’s May 2024 security patch for the Galaxy S23 device. Now, users of the device from several regions are reporting that after installing the patch, their Google Wallet isn’t working seamlessly.
A couple of days ago, Google officially released a statement saying that from June 10th, Google Wallet will only be compatible with devices that at least run on Android 9 or above. Now the report is saying that Samsung’s flagship device, the Galaxy S23, users are facing issues while using Google Wallet.
A recent report suggest that a lot of Samsung Galaxy S23 users have reported through the Korean manufacturer’s community forums that, after installing the May 2024 security patch, they cannot use the Google Wallet seamlessly and flawlessly as before. These users have claimed that right after downloading the latest Android security patch, the Google Wallet app displays an unknown error message indicating that the phone does not meet the required security standards, causing them to be unable to make contactless payments.
Galaxy S23 users are not even able to access the cards that were linked to the platform. Noticeably, a huge percentage of reports come from Galaxy S23 users belonging to Europe; however, this issue has also been detected in other regions, including Australia, the US, or the United Arab Emirates, and other devices like the Galaxy S22 or the Pixel 8 Pro.
If you are going through this inconvenient issue, here’s a temporary solution. You can uninstall the application updates in the Google Play Store. This will help you in a way; the error message will still appear in the app, but it will let you make payments with it again.
