US Unlocked Galaxy S21 and S20 series get August 2024 security update

The carrier-locked Samsung Galaxy S21 series and Galaxy S20 lineup have already been refreshed with the August 2024 security update, while this time, the carrier-unlocked devices have been receiving the update in the US. 

Samsung is almost on the verge of concluding the August 2024 security update for its eligible Galaxy models; meanwhile, a few of them are still left to get the update in some regions. Meanwhile, after carrier-locked models, now the carrier-unlocked Galaxy S21 and S20 series started getting the update. 

The update for the Galaxy S21 series, including Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra, carries the G991U1UEUCGXGBG996U1UEUCGXGB, and G998U1UEUCGXGB version numbers. 

On the flip side, the update for the Galaxy S20 series, including Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra, comes with the G981U1UESAHXG1G986U1UESAHXG1, and G988U1UESAHXG1 build numbers. 

Meanwhile, as the August 2024 security bulletin brings several fixes for the device’s functionalities, this update significantly introduces several key improvements to the device’s security while also protecting the device from several external attacks. 

In addition, the update further marks various other relevant enhancements to the device’s overall functionality along with providing stability and reliability and improving the device’s behavior to offer a more safe, stable, and optimized experience to the users. Thus, the Galaxy S21 and S20 owners can now download the latest update by heading to the Settings app once it’s available on their devices.
